Beverly G. Hudnut

Beverly G. Hudnut is a BPC fellow with the Democracy Project. Hudnut works on several initiatives—including the Commission on Political Reform and the Presidential Commission on Election Administration—to facilitate outreach and collaboration with peer organizations, as well as strategic communications about BPC’s work.

Hudnut has significant experience as a public policy advocate, marketer, lawyer, and fundraising professional—with significant experience in the government, non-profit, and private sectors.

Most recently, Hudnut served as special counsel for the Campaign Legal Center. Previous positions include: special counsel for the John McCain 2008 presidential campaign, where she served as co-director of the Honest and Open Election Committee co-chaired by former Senators John C. Danforth and Warren B. Rudman and director of communications for the Commission on the National Guard and Reserves, where she led strategic communications for the independent bipartisan commission created by the House and Senate Armed Services Committees to analyze and recommend changes to the reserve component of the U.S. military in order to best meet national security interests.

Hudnut, a 2016 graduate of Leadership Greater Washington, recently earned a Certificate of Fund Raising Management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Hudnut received a J.D. degree from American University’s Washington College of Law in 2003. She is a member of the Maryland, District of Columbia, and U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland Bars. She holds a B.S. degree in interpersonal communications.
