Tara Williams

Tara Williams is an associate director for BPC’s Early Childhood Initiative. Prior to joining BPC, she was the Executive Director of the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children. In that role, Williams co-led the Right from the Start Coalition, working with policymakers, early educators, parents, business leaders, and advocates on child care and early learning systems coordination. Williams was a research and policy analyst at the National Council on Teacher Quality, where she analyzed education and school district policies from all fifty states. She worked for many years in early childhood classrooms teaching and caring for Kindergarten through 3^rd grade students, preschoolers, and infants and toddlers. Williams completed a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education Leadership from Bank Street College of Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University.
